The Aion Y offers an option of three different battery packs which are all Magazine Batteries developed by GAC inhouse. The Magazine Battery features a special layout that provides better performance of high temperature resistance and explosion resistance and can be built as a ternary lithium battery or a lithium iron phosphate battery. The energy density of the battery system on the AION Y is 184Wh/kg, and the power consumption per 100 kilometres under working conditions is 13.8 kWh (50 MJ).

The Aion Y features a minimalist interior with a large multimedia screen and digital instruments. The central screen has a diameter of 14.5 inches and is oriented horizontally. The Aion Y has 5G connectivity, can operate semi-autonomously, and is able to scan the face of its occupants and then adjust certain settings accordingly according to GAC.

The intelligent equipment of Aion Y, ADiGO 2.0 driver assistance system integrates 5 safe driving assistance functions, including front collision warning (FCW), active brake assist system (AEB), lane departure warning (LDW), lane keeping assist (LKA), driver status monitoring (DMS) and 7 automatic driving assistance functions, including adaptive cruise (ACC), intelligent high beam (IHBC), intelligent speed limit adaptive cruise (iACC), traffic sign recognition (TSR), Traffic jam assist (TJA), remote parking and integrated cruise (ICA).

Keyless entry and reversing aid are on board so is the Bluetooth for phone connections. The wipers have rain sensors, but thats about the extent of technology offered in this refreshingly simple electric SUV.

The Aion Y Younger comes with the new 51.9kWh LFP battery which can keep the car going for 430 km. The 100kW electric motor is responsible for powering the front wheels and thanks to its 176Nm it makes it a cinch.

Aion Y Younger comes only in two color options - you can have it in either silver or blue and both come with orange accents.
Thats one way to keep the costs down and simplify choices. The same goes for the wheels - either 18\ or 19\ and that,s it.

The interior is quite flexible, the front seats can fold all the way back, creating a decent-sized bed for those emergency moments.
Two screens provide all the information required - drivers 10.25-inch and central 14.6-inch. Giant center console can store some extra stuff and the wireless charging pad sits right next to two cup holders.
